Bruno the French Bulldog

The sun painted the grass gold as Bruno, the light gray spotted French Bulldog, tore across the park. His spotted ears flapped, and his tongue hung out in sheer joy. Harley, the elegant Black Affenpinscher, and Rocco, the Brown Male Pit Bull, chased after him—a blur of fur and laughter.

Harley darted behind a tree, tail wagging like a metronome. Rocco pretended not to see her, but when she peeked out, he pounced, and they tumbled in a heap of playfulness.

The pond beckoned, and Rocco leaped into the water. His chocolate coat glistened as he retrieved a floating stick. Bruno barked encouragement, and Harley watched from the shore, her paws dainty and dry.

Balancing on a fallen log, Bruno posed—front paws up, back legs splayed—his spotted belly exposed. Harley clapped silently, and Rocco attempted a clumsy handstand.

Harley sat beneath the oak tree, eyes fixed on a squirrel. She tilted her head, as if deciphering its chittering secrets. Rocco joined her, and they formed a silent squirrel appreciation club. Bruno, oblivious, chased his tail.

As the sun dipped low, Rocco led the way back to their favorite bench. Bruno flopped down, tongue lolling, and Harley curled beside him. Rocco, chest puffed out, declared, “Today, my friends, we conquered the park!” And they nodded, hearts full.
